“To meet growing demands in the use of mobile devices, Broward County launched its Broward.org Mobile application in November 2012. Users can freely download the Broward County mobile application (app) onto their devices to access the county’s vast array of services such as bill payments, purchases, etc. from any location. The application was built using latest mobile development tools and a responsive design, which allows screen displays and settings to automatically adjust to fit the particular mobile device in use. The result is significant improvement in the user experience, while making it even more convenient to access county services. The Internet has become a major, ever growing source for information and business transactions. In addition, mobile technology is now common place in today’s environment as users demand access to services through various devices. By developing an application primarily geared towards providing needed functionality required for mobile devices, the county expanded it service outreach to capture a wider market. This additional system was completely developed in-house by Broward County; continuing its commitment to being a service leader and provide 24 x 7 e-government services. This has further extended the reach and capability of Broward County services, allowing users convenient, ‘on-the-go’ access.”
