The County of San Diego’s Department of Human Resources’ (DHR) Employee Benefits Division implemented a new training strategy to include a team of 19 Benefit Ambassadors and other departmental representatives to help with the 2015 Open Enrollment period for the approximately 18,000 County employees. The Benefit Ambassadors included human resource representatives from each of the County of San Diego’s five organizational groups to bring a new communication and training strategy to make it easier for employees to learn about their benefit elections during open enrollment and the nuances of the Affordable Care Act.
