About the Program

Category: Health (Best in Category)

Year: 2021

Union County partnered with the public school system to create a Behavioral Health Collaborative, which places social workers and behavioral health therapists in schools across the district. This effort enables us to serve students across all socio-economic demographics. The collaborative served more than 5,000 students and their families in the first year. Union County is improving student outcomes by intervening earlier with students experiencing mental health issues and connecting them with community support services that meet their basic needs. The end result is healthier individuals more equipped to be successful academically, socially, and mentally.
