Texas statute grants the County Auditor the authority to audit all financial books and records of all County officers in order to maintain the integrity of financial administration in the County government. The Auditor’s Internet - Audit Reports Page, launched on October 17, 2016, is an internet-based resource designed as an efficient tool to provide transparency to the citizens of Harris County and the global community while at the same time saving the Auditor’s Office costs associated with issuing such documents in hard copy to various County department heads. At its inception last October, the website listed all of the audit reports that the Auditor’s Office issued in the past three years, and from that time forward, all future audit reports have been and will be added to the webpage on a continuous basis.
