About the Program
Category: Community and Economic Development (Best in Category)
Year: 2011
Mecklenburg County Code enforcement developed the AE (Architect/Engineer) Pass Rate Incentives program in order to support A&âs by moving them up in the plan review process because they take the profession and the OnSchedule process seriously, and have earned resulting high pass rates. Conversely, those professionals who abuse the OnSchedule process will move back, until they improve. The key features of the program are: grades are issued for the A&Eâs based on their plan review cycles with the department, incentives are given to A&Eâs who perform well, added submittal requirements related to the most frequent submittal challenges, have been put in place for those who do not perform well, and tools have been put in place to assist projects through the plan review process. This process has reduced the number of plan review cycles for typical projects, which saves time and money for the Countyâs customers in the design community and construction industry, as well as for the County itself.
