Achieving Excellence in Service, A Customer Service Training is a course created by OC Community Resources (OCCR) Staff Development Unit to provide customer service training to the OCCR staff who provide service to residents of Orange County through its four programs: OC Animal Care, OC Community Services, OC Park and OC Public Libraries. Achieving Excellence in Service, A Customer Service Training invites participants to review their organization’s Mission Statement so as to rekindle respect, and appreciation for their work. The training calls to attention the six fundamental customer needs and trains participants on the five critical customer service skills. It has the necessary flexibility for programs to include program-specific scenarios so that the exercises and practices are relevant and meaningful to the participants regardless of which program they come from; whether it is OC Animal Care, OC Community Services, OC Parks or OC Public Libraries. The director of OCCR saw the relevancy of the training to the extent that it was offered to all staff of all programs. OCCR Staff Development Unit organized Training for Trainers (T4T) for interested trainers from programs who, in turn, provided Achieving Excellence in Service, A Customer Service Training to their staff.
