The Miami-Dade County Elections Department supports the county’s more than 1.4 million registered voters on Election Day. Poll Workers make a difference, serve their community and play a crucial role in every Election. In April 2018, the Miami-Dade County Elections Department launched its first ever Poll Worker Recruitment Campaign to meet the demands of an ever-increasing registered voter base as well as trends toward higher poll worker turnover and higher voter turnout. The inaugural countywide Campaign included poll worker recruitment flyers, banners, ads, etc., pushed by several means across the county including social media, Elections and County/County HR websites, municipalities, gas station TV advertising, outdoor ads, print and radio ads as well as SEO/online advertising. The campaign met with great success; Election Day poll worker applications increased by 18%, translating to over 1400 new poll worker applications between April and June of 2018 in advance of our Midterm Election Cycle.
