Leon County strives to sustain a culture of performance and deliver effective, efficient services that exceed expectations and demonstrate value. Acknowledging that this goal can only be achieved through a properly trained and innovative workforce, Leon County adopted a five-year Target in its FY 2017-2021 Strategic Plan to train 100% of County employees in three key areas: Customer Experience; Diversity; and Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, and Stalking in the Workplace. This five-year Target is a part of the County’s Governance Strategic Priority to “be a model for local governance with innovative, competent, and responsible public servants, committed to promoting integrity, creating meaningful opportunities for citizen engagement and co-creation, and ensuring fiscal stewardship.” Through this training program, which goes well above and beyond each employee’s basic job description, Leon County keeps its employees striving to continue to make our community a special place to live, work, and play. And by adopting this initiative in its Strategic Plan, Leon County continues to prove itself as a model local government that citizens can believe in and others can benchmark against.
