Telehealth and COVID-19: How Digital Platforms Are Critical to Accessing Health Care Services

Telehealth has emerged as a requisite tool for offering access to needed health care services while reducing the risk of exposure to and spread of COVID-19. Specifically, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Federal government along with state and county leaders have issued emergency orders to increase access to telehealth services and to increase the pool of available health care providers. According to recent data from Forrester Research, virtual health care visits could top more than 1 billion this year, including more than 900 million visits related to COVID-19. Join NACo and our partners for a webinar detailing these new regulatory flexibilities, how they are being implemented to improve access for underserved communities and what opportunities exist to integrate digital platforms long term into the Medicaid system.
