Federal partners, national experts and thought leaders will join the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Policy Steering Committee to discuss policy priorities and best practices in affordable housing, community revitalization, workforce development, and more. The committee will also be joined by subject matter experts from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Economic Development Administration (EDA). |
Federal partners and national experts will join the Environment, Energy and Land Use Policy Steering Committee to discuss committee policy priorities, including the promotion of a comprehensive national energy policy, addressing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and advancing water quality and affordability, among others. |
Federal partners and national experts will join the Health Policy Steering Committee to share solutions and best practices in key priorities for health, including substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery, and federal regulatory reforms to long-term care. |

Join the Transportation Policy Steering Committee's Business Meeting for an interactive technical assistance session with subject matter experts from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Committee members will also vote on interim policy resolutions informing NACo's advocacy and engagement on Capitol Hill and among federal agencies. |

The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee will hear from a series of partners to forecast the legislative landscape for upcoming timely issues. The Finance, Pensions and Intergovernmental Affairs Policy Steering Committee discuss its federal policy priorities. Federal partners and experts will join the meeting to examine policy outlooks for the 118th Congress, including issues surrounding the oversight of pension plans and federal policies that could impact county finances and the municipal bond market. Additionally, the committee will hear from each subcommittee chair on NACo's latest activities in Washington, D.C. |

Federal partners and national experts will join the Human Services and Education Policy Steering Committee to discuss policy priorities and best practices for serving vulnerable children and families, combating intergenerational poverty, and strengthening adult protective services. |

Congressional and federal agency partners will join the Justice and Public Safety Policy Steering Committee to discuss critical issues, including addressing mental health in the criminal justice system, disaster mitigation and response, and the outlook for the committee's policy priorities in the 118th Congress. |

The Public Lands Policy Steering Committee will discuss and debate resolutions and meet with key federal partners to discuss progress on infrastructure implementation, efforts to improve landscape health and streamline the regulatory process. |

The Telecommunications and Technology Policy Steering Committee will meet with federal partners and stakeholders to discuss issues, including the implementation of broadband and cybersecurity programs under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the elevation of the county role in digital equity efforts, and addressing the deployment of advanced wireless technologies as well as other issues. |

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Subcommittee of the Information Technology Standing Committee focuses on GIS education, national trends and proposed legislation that might affect GIS. Members are county elected officials, surveyors and planners, GIS directors and other county GIS leadership. The subcommittee will hear from national organizations and partners on relevant updates on current and future landscape of GIS policies and practices. |
The social determinants of health (SDOH) are the conditions in which we live, learn, work and play that directly and indirectly impact the health and well-being of communities. Those who work within the field of public health have a deep understanding of these issues and the importance of addressing SDOHs to drive improvements to community health. Other stakeholders, such as policymakers and the general public, may not share the same background as public health officials, but play a critical role in shaping how social determinants are addressed at the community level. During this session, Healthy Counties Advisory Board (HCAB) members will explore strategies and share ideas for increasing awareness and understanding of SDOHs among county leaders and community members to drive improvements to public health. |

Hear from policy experts on pressing federal issues impacting Gulf Coast counties and parishes. Caucus members will also discuss federal legislative priorities and strategize for future GSCPC events and initiatives. Caucus membership is open to all NACo county and parish government officials from Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. |
Arts and Culture Commission members will report on their participation in NACo’s Creative Counties Placemaking Challenge with project partner Americans for the Arts, funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. County leaders will provide examples of how they integrated the arts to advance community development goals, including supporting recovery and healing from addiction, commemorating and celebrating indigenous culture and history, and engaging community to rebuild a local arts council and prevent out-migration of residents. The session will open with D.C.-based spoken word artist and Diversity Equity and Inclusion practitioner Charity Blackwell. |
The Information Technology Standing Committee, which consists of elected officials and county IT leaders, will focus on national trends and policies that could impact county technologies. |

NACo's Large Urban County Caucus (LUCC) is the premier national forum for exchanging ideas and solutions that help urban counties address pressing issues. LUCC members will meet with federal officials and national leaders on housing, economic development and other areas of urban innovation. |

NACo's Rural Action Caucus (RAC) is the premier national forum for exchanging ideas and solutions that help rural counties address pressing issues. RAC members will discuss issues important to the 70 percent of America's counties considered rural, including infrastructure, rural health and more. |
This advisory committee meeting focuses on NACo's partnership with Nationwide Retirement Solutions, highlighting performance numbers and new products, tools, or services available to plan sponsors and participants. |
Resilient Counties Advisory Board and Arts and Culture Commission members will explore strategies to support artists and local creative economies to help performing arts organizations learn how to protect their assets, sustain operations and be prepared for emergencies. Experts with the National Coalition for Arts’ Preparedness and Emergency Response and the Performing Arts Readiness project will also present ways in which artists support communities to heal and recover after disaster. |
The NACo Programs and Services Committee will receive updates on NACo’s mental health programs and services and generate recommendations for the NACo officers and the board on future programming. This meeting is open to all conference attendees. |

In this session, connect with embassy officials, business councils and federal agencies to learn about the dynamics of North American trade and how you can better partner with Canadian and Mexican businesses to grow your local economy. Hosted by the International Economic Development Task Force, this session is open to all conference attendees. |

The Immigration Reform Task Force (IRTF) serves as a forum for county officials from across the nation to discuss the impact of federal immigration policy on local governments and communities, and to engage with federal decision makers on matters related to immigration. Task Force members will hear from policy experts, discuss federal legislative priorities and strategize for future IRTF events and initiatives. |

The Veterans and Military Services Committee will discuss federal policy priorities and best practices for serving veterans, military members, and their families. |

The Western Interstate Region (WIR) Board of Directors will meet with federal agency personnel to discuss federal lands management, growing the rural western economy and ensuring a balanced relationship with our federal partners. |
