Counties and the Coronavirus Relief Fund: Broadband Investment to Support Families and Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

Although a concern over the years, this spring when the COVID-19 pandemic sent workers and students alike home and online, a rapidly growing number of people learn what many already knew – the nation’s information technology infrastructure was insufficient. In both rural and urban counties, residents do not have the type of access needed to run businesses, take classes, operate machinery and practice medicine. With the establishment of the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) by the CARES Act, counties worked quickly to establish new programs and services that would bridge the gap in broadband service. Join NACo for a webinar that will highlight how county leaders across the country are using critical CRF dollars to support broadband expansion efforts ahead of the Dec. 30, 2020 deadline.
