County staff are being asked to do more with limited time and resources, and generative AI can help, but only if you know how to use it well and responsibly. This practical session will start with a quick AI prompting primer and then spend time on how better prompts translate into real efficiencies, from cutting the time it takes to draft communications, summarize policies, and prepare meeting notes, to responding to constituents faster and with greater clarity and accuracy.

Panelists will walk through a governance and security framework for using these tools safely, including what information should never go into a prompt, how to protect sensitive constituent and county data, and how to verify AI output before it is shared. Attendees will see before-and-after examples drawn from everyday county work and learn how small changes in how you ask can mean major improvements in what you get back. You will leave with a simple prompting framework and a set of ready-to-use prompt templates that free up your time for the work that matters most: serving your constituents with confidence.

After this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Write clearer and concise prompts to save time on drafting, summarizing, and responding to constituents
  • Apply safe-use practices: keep sensitive data out of prompts and verify AI output before sharing
  • Use before-and-after examples, a simple prompting framework, and ready-to-use templates in everyday county work
