Resilient Counties Innovation Council

About the Council

Counties engage in all aspects and phases of emergency management from planning, preparation and mitigation to response and recovery. On the frontlines, counties protect residents, property, infrastructure and local economies through the life cycle of all manner of natural and man-made disaster. NACo’s Resilient Counties Innovation Council elevates trends and innovations in how counties are building and sustaining environmental, structural and community resilience; in addition, the Council advises NACo on the organization’s environment, disaster resilience and land use programming.

NACo’s Resilient Counties Innovation Council typically hosts in-person educational content and peer networking activities at NACo Annual and Legislative conferences to amplify county practices that support disaster mitigation and timely recovery, futureproof critical infrastructure and build a culture of resilience among county residents. Additional virtual and in-person programming is guided by the Council’s appointed leadership in partnership with NACo’s Resilient Counties sponsors and thought partners. Council members receive targeted invitations to relevant in-person and virtual events, educational content and more.
