Midsize County Caucus
About MCC
America’s midsize counties serve as economic engines, regional service hubs and community anchors for millions of residents across the country. These counties balance growth and innovation with fiscal responsibility, workforce constraints and increasing service demands, often without the scale of the largest jurisdictions or the flexibility of smaller ones.
Launched in 2025, the National Association of Counties (NACo) Midsize County Caucus (MCC) provides a dedicated forum for county leaders from midsize counties to come together around shared challenges and opportunities. Comprised of county executives, commissioners and other county officials, MCC members engage in peer-to-peer learning and collaborate to advance NACo policy positions that reflect the realities of midsize county governance. The caucus focuses on pragmatic, scalable solutions that support counties serving diverse populations across urban, suburban and rural-adjacent regions.
