Tax Credit Outreach Hub for County Health and Human Services Agencies
This hub, sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), hosts information and resources on tax filing for health and human services agencies serving families eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC). Both the CTC and EITC were temporarily expanded under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Access this hub for education and outreach materials, county examples and other resources to help ensure vulnerable households access these important income supports during the 2021 tax filing season.

Urge your members of Congress to maintain consistent funding for substance use and mental health services provided through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and pass legislation that enhances counties’ ability to provide local systems of care. Future appropriations bills should meet or exceed FY 2022 funding levels, particularly for the Community Mental Health Services (MHBG) and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) block grants, which allow counties to direct resources to those with the most need. -
