The Young At Art Museum/Broward County Library is the stunning result of a groundbreaking public/private partnership that merges art, education and literature while fostering learning and imagination. The Museum/Library demonstrates outstanding service to the community by establishing a unique museum and library complex for families in Broward County that creates a synergistic relationship between art and literature. While funding for public school arts programs has been reduced, the Museum/Library stepped in to fill the gap. The Young At Art Museum/Broward County Library, which opened May 5, 2012 in Davie, Florida, is comprised of a 55,000 square-foot, $26 million-dollar Young At Art Museum which includes a 10,000 square-foot, full-service Broward County Library fully staffed and operated by Broward County Libraries Division. The family-friendly library has a collection of 30,000 items including books, CDs, DVDs and more, 23 public-use computers and Wi-Fi access throughout. Art and books, imagination and creativity combine to create a unique library experience for all. Through a partnership with Broward County, Young At Art Museum/Broward County Library is envisioned as the first art museum/library experience for youth that creates an arts-based learning environment to transform how children embrace the arts while improving literacy, technology skills and creativity.
