The Merrimack County Department of Corrections has forged partnerships with the State Courts, local and State Law Enforement, and the State of New Hampshire Hospital to improve intergovernmental cooperation in dealing with the influx of individuals with mental health disorders who are being sentenced to the Merrimack County Correctional facility and then released into the communities in Merrimack County. Through the leadership of Superintendent Ron White, the staff at the Department of Corrections have collaborated with the National Alliance for Mental Illness New Hampshire chapter, Riverbend Community Mental Health, and a variety of local, state and federal agencies in Merrimack County to weave a network of supports for a segment of the County's most vulnerable citizens.
