Year: 2011

The San Diego County treasurer-tax collector developed and implemented a Workflow Prioritization Matrix (the “Matrix”} in 2010 to assist the Accounting Division (the “Division”) in managing daily priorities with existing resources. During any given day, the Division is responsible for compiling and recording a high volume of transactions related to investment activities, wire transfer disbursements, debt service payments, and property tax collections and refunds. Due to the volume, it is critical to the Treasurer-tax Collector’s customers that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Given the recent economic conditions, it has become necessary to maintain a high level of customer service with the same or reduced resources. The Workflow Prioritization matrix provides a tool for managers and supervisors to ensure that all deadlines are met and that work is performed in an accurate and efficient manner.
