As paying agent for 117 debt issuances for both the County and numerous school districts, the County of San Diego Treasurer-Tax Collector implemented a debt service and bond administration database to provide a centralized and accessible repository for tracking all debt payment information. The annual payments for debt service amount to over $300 million each year. Therefore, it is critical that the payments be processed accurately and efficiently. The bond administration database consolidates dozens of Excel worksheets and various schedules that were previously utilized by the department and therefore provides better accountability and controls via a more efficient and effective process.
