Election System Security is necessary to the safety and security of the elections system. The Thurston County Auditor’s Office has established the Cybersecurity Initiative. This initiative helps ensure the integrity of our elections system. It implements best practice standards to create a hardened enterprise network, strengthen critical election infrastructure and improve county government. The Cybersecurity Task Force established under the initiative meets bi-monthly to examine practices, understand new technology, and continually improve our cybersecurity program. Thurston County continues to advance cyberdefense strategies and mechanisms for our election systems as threats continue to evolve.
