The Tarrant County Human Resources Department Working on Wellness (WOW) program website directly aligns to Tarrant County’s strategic objective to address healthcare coverage and costs for employees and retirees. The WOW program promotes and enhances employee health and well-being by encouraging employee participation in wellness and fitness related activities. This, initiative also promotes education programs to improve the overall health of the employee base. The previous WOW SharePoint website was inaccessible to 45% of Tarrant County’s employee population representing four (4) of our largest departments (Sheriff’s Office, Community Supervision and Corrections, District Clerk and County Clerk) due to restricted internet access for their employees. Our objective was to provide a solution that would enable secure online access to WOW information for all Tarrant County employees. Reinvention of the SharePoint WOW program to an interactive, mobile compatible website that integrates health benefits and programs allows the: • Education of all 4,731 Tarrant County employees on benefits and wellness through program participation to improve employee overall health, and • Provides all 4,731 Tarrant County employees access to WOW information from any internet connected desktop, tablet, or mobile device, anywhere 24x7. The business benefits resulting from the new Working on Wellness (WOW) program solution include, but are not limited to: • 45% increase in the number of Tarrant County employees gaining access to the WOW program. • Man-hour savings of $38,043 via reclaiming 1,409 hours (176 man-days) annually through automation of all enrollments, submissions, tracking and report generation processes. • Increased reporting capabilities 400% from the manually aggregated reports to automated pre-defined scheduled and on demand reports.
