Leon County Government is committed to leveraging partnerships, embracing efficiency and innovation, and demanding performance to the benefit of our taxpayers. In June 2018, to further build on this commitment, Leon County Government created the SMARTIES Committee to serve as an employee-led innovation team, tasked with identifying and developing Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely Innovative Employee Solutions that enhance and sustain a culture of employee-led, cross-departmental innovation throughout Leon County Government. Throughout the year, the Committee works to identify and implement strategies that improve internal processes. The Committee also leads efforts throughout the organization to increase awareness, interest, and participation among employees in exploring innovative ideas, cost savings measures, and operational efficiencies. The SMARTIES Committee serves as a continuous approach to enhancing and sustaining Leon County’s “People Focused. Performance Driven” culture by enhancing cross-departmental innovation and breaking down “silos” across the organization by engaging employees as co-contributors in our commitment to innovative thinking, solving problems in real time, and continuously exceeding customer expectations.
