The Los Angeles Superior Court’s (LASC’s) Shared Procurement Services (SPS) program extends professional, law-compliant procurement and contracting services to 18 smaller courts in California. SPS offers a variety of specialized services, including: general procurement and public contract law advisement, assistance with preparation of solicitation materials, posting of solicitations on the program’s “BidSync” site, access to law-compliant templates, documents and forms, management of all legal requirements for public bids (including public notices and responses to protests), advisement on potential opportunities to leverage existing cooperative purchasing agreements, contract drafting and terms negotiations. Since LASC launched the program on July 1, 2015, SPS provided guidance on over 50 solicitation and contract requests. Confirming full compliance with applicable laws and procedures enables participating courts to allocate procurement and contract resources with confidence and efficiency. SPS also provides greater access to a large pool of vendors through BidSync, an automated solicitations system. Through SPS, trial courts of varying sizes and locations can all access optimized procurement and contracting opportunities.
