Re-Entry Television (RE TV) is an initiative formed by the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR) to facilitate the dissemination of video based information and media to all inmates in custody in order to assist them with a successful reentry back to the community. RE TV provides education, re-entry, and faith-based media to all inmate housing areas at the jail facilities over a dedicated channel on the inmate television system. It is operated by jail personnel. This initiative allows MDCR to develop or select the media content in video and audio format that best meets the needs of the inmate population and schedule the time at which the content will be displayed. RE TV gives MDCR Command Staff the ability to create announcements or video messages and share them with the inmate population at very little cost or delay.
