During the spring of 2020, while Virginia was in a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) manufactured 8,340 face shields, 11,310 ear savers, and 100 hand sanitizer station keys. This personal protective equipment (PPE) was sent to the Loudoun County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), where it was distributed among first responders, healthcare providers, and other eligible applicants.
