Pike County, Kentucky is an area prone to natural disasters. Two major floods in two years has left many residents homeless and/or without any personal belongings. Three deputies with a desire to serve their community in every way possible formed the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. Floods are just one reason, albeit a big one, the dive team is utilized. The team, due to its unique nature, can be utilized for a number of purposes, but evidence recovery may be the most important. At least one other county in the region has already adopted a similar program and team as well.
