Montgomery County, Maryland recently launched the openMontgomery initiative to make County Government even more transparent, responsive, accessible and accountable to its residents and constituents. openMontgomery is comprised of four (4) pillar programs: 1. dataMontgomery: providing on-line access to County datasets in consumable format; 2. mobileMontgomery: providing mobile device access to County information, services and programs; 3. engageMontgomery: providing an on-line forum for resident collaboration and idea-sharing; 4. accessMontgomery: providing on-line access to County services, reports, budgets, and contracts. One of the key deliverables of the openMontgomery initiative is the publication of the County’s first Digital Government Strategy. This strategy document outlines the County’s key digital objectives and principles, and defines a digital government roadmap with critical deliverables and milestones.
