The Office of Business intelligence (OBI) uses data analysis processes aimed at boosting County performance. It incorporates a model for analyzing data and presenting actionable information to help upper management and executives make better informed business decisions. OBI uses a variety of tools and methodologies to analyze data, create reports, develop dashboards, and data visualization tools to make the analytical results available to executive decision makers as well as operational workers. Furthermore, OBI utilizes business process optimization to identify potential opportunities for cost savings or other improvements. Other data analytics applications OBI incorporates include advanced analytics, such as predictive and statistical analysis, which use historical information to extrapolate future data points. The business intelligence gathered accelerates and improves decision making, optimizes business processes, and increases operational efficiency. All of these enable the county to support strategic and tactical decision-making processes, identify trends and spot potential problems that need to be addressed, which ultimately leads to cost savings and better performance.
