Sacramento County takes consumer protection mobile with free food inspection mobile phone applications for iPhones and Androids. The food inspection apps are the first-of-their-kind by local government that lets the public easily learn about a food facilityâs health inspection compliance, with maps and access to the full inspection report on smartphones. These innovative applications, and the companion mobile website, show the current food inspection status for Sacramento County food facilities as color markers on an interactive map based on the smartphone userâs current location. The color of the marker reflects the most recent food inspection result: Green for âPassâ, Yellow for âConditional Passâ, or Red for âClosedâ. Along with the current inspection status, the mobile app map shows a pop-up information balloon with the most recent inspection date and links to view 1) the most recent inspection report, 2) more inspection history, and 3) nearby food facilities. The data is also available in a list format, with the closest facilities to the userâs current location appearing first.
