About the Program

Category: Children and Youth (Best in Category)

Year: 2017

Miami International Airport’s Volunteer Ambassador Program is the anchor of MIA’s customer service. The program’s intent is to make passengers feel at home, making sure their journey is ‘sun’-sational. Our 81 volunteers range from ages 18-85, hail from over 22 countries, speak 18 languages and include former educators, military veterans, engineers, nurses and airline employees. Collectively, the volunteers have donated nearly 15,000 hours of service to travelers at information counters and driving free trolley service at MIA. Their passion and energy to help passengers through their travel journey and to provide assistance, gives back to our community and makes our volunteers one-of-a-kind. The ambassador’s bright blue shirts and warm smiles reflect MIA’s commitment to world-class customer service.
