Category: Health (Best in Category)

Year: 2023

The Orange County Corrections Department opened an onsite MAT Clinic in March 2022. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications along with counseling and behavioral therapies to treat opiate use disorder (OUD). The clinic offers different types of MAT treatment options such as Methadone, Suboxone and Naltrexone. The onsite clinic removed the need for inmates to be transported for treatment to an off-site location—significantly enhancing public safety. Aspire Health Partners Inc. is the treatment provider that operates the Orange County Corrections MAT Clinic. Orange County is the first jail in the State of Florida to have such a clinic. As of March 21, 2023, 60 inductions have been completed at the jail. To date, 215 patients have been treated at the onsite clinic.
