Many offices and county agencies have lists of addresses in Excel documents that they use for their day to day work. One feature requested by staff was the ability to easily see how these lists of addresses appear on a map in order to create routes, evaluate clusters, and look at the information from a geographic point of view. In addition to being able to see the point on the map, the user also needs to be able to query each point on the map and find the information associated with it. A tool that would perform this talk was requested for rideshare coordinators so they could offer viable solutions to employees interested in participating in the trip reduction program. The tool which was developed provides the functionality of mapping addresses contained in an Excel document and seeing the information displayed in Google maps without having to purchase GIS software or ask third party entities to perform the geo-coding. The process to map the addresses is simple and easy to follow. All that is required from the used to map the addresses is Microsoft Excel and access to the Internet.
