The Juvenile Court of Maricopa County is committed to addressing the needs of children, youth, and families in their community. Each year, thousands of people contact the Juvenile Court for assistance with matters involving children such as document filing, family crises, guardianship filings, emancipations, and the like. It became rather clear that there was need to fill a gap in service between the public’s wants, needs, and expectations of the Court, and the Court itself. In light of this realization, the Court determined that having staff members on hand who could “direct” and assist customers with questions would be immensely beneficial. In an effort to address this need, the Juvenile Court Guide program was developed in 2006. These Court Guides were utilized to modify the role of the Court’s operational support staff, and dot help them transition towards becoming direct contacts and ambassadors for the Juvenile Court system.
