The Community Coordinator program offers a unique and effective service paradigm to the Court and families by resolving identified barriers to court-ordered service delivery and providing timely, accurate information to the Court. Up until 2015, Community Coordinators were limited to cases involving children under the age of three. The Court’s Conciliation Unit was tasked to provide community coordination for the bench on all Dependency Cases, not just the youngest population. In addition, the Conciliation Unit was able to work under the expertise consultation of Casey Family Programs and the oversight provided by attorneys with child welfare proficiency to increase the quality, meaningfulness and positive outcomes of mediation.
