The Justice Partner Portal (JPP) project provides authorized agencies online access to restricted case information and documents. Most government agencies provide some form of public access to public records. However, a large percentage of court information is deemed confidential, sealed or otherwise privileged. Access to the JPP information sharing system is “claims” based. This delineation is based on a series of attributes that correlate specific access rights, or claims, to each user. Claim assignment criteria is designated according to the degree and type of association each user occupies in relation to a particular case. It is not uncommon for different users in the same organization to hold varying levels of access to the same case record. JPP evolved from, and is implemented concurrently with, ongoing modernization of the Court’s Case Management System (CMS) system. As such, its expansion throughout the Court advances according to litigation based phases of “roll out”. To date, litigation areas that are incorporated within the CMS modernization effort include probate, family law and juvenile dependency. These litigation types now offer optimized access to information through JPP.
