As the largest water and sewer utility in the southeastern United States, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) serves nearly 2.3 million residents and covers more than 700 square miles, directly or indirectly. With another housing boom affecting all areas of Miami-Dade County, current and potential residents donât have an easy way to determine which of the many water and sewer utility provides service to their property. iWASD Connect is a free, online GIS viewer that quickly provides this type of information. It provides users utility information on any property within the Miami-Dade County limits, including potential distance to connect for those not connected to any utility service. It reduces the number of calls to multiple utilities and even expedites research for those within the utility.
