The Idea Machine is a program for continuously collecting and evaluating County employee ideas that could save money, improve service, or create efficiencies. The “Idea Machine” employs the principles of transparency for employees and administration—new ideas are published for all employees to see and vote on. The reviews of their feasibility and the ultimate outcome of their implementation are also made public, making the “inner workings” of the Machine, clearly visible and accessible to all the employees. The Idea Machine is enabled by discussion forum and workflow technology, implemented on eNet, the County’s employee portal.
