In 2018, Orange County Government in Orlando, Florida offered two solar co-ops to encourage homeowners to go solar at a discounted rate. With the communication, support and involvement efforts at the County, the solar co-ops resulted in the largest and most successful co-ops in the state of Florida. The solar co-op resulted in a projected $1.2 million in property value increases and $3.5 million projected savings for residents over a lifetime – and an impressive ROI for the environment … and for the overall goal in sustainability efforts.
