In 2008, the Cook County Department of Facilities Management identified that the mission and core values of the department were not being expressed and implemented to the fullest possible standard. The Director decided to take an approach of proactive building management, increased tenant awareness, and aggressive building maintenance. Over the last year and a half, Facilities Management embarked on the Enhanced Tenant Communication Effort, which has included awareness, accessibility, and responsive action to tenant needs. The Division of Quality Assurance was established in 2008 to ensure promptness and quality of work, while also establishing a constant stream of communication with over sixty different agencies/tenants throughout the non-detention facilities within Cook County.
