The Crossroads Area Veterans Center (Center) in Victoria, Texas officially opened to the public on November 12, 2015, offering expanded services to veterans in a unique, âone-stopâ setting. The Center is primarily charged with meeting the multidimensional needs for any and all veterans requesting assistance. Center services include veteransâ benefit assistance and consultation, veteransâ mental health services, peer to peer group counseling and activities, individual and family counseling, educational opportunities, financial consultation and jail outreach, as well as job counseling and housing assistance. Victoria County recognizes continued challenges many veterans and their families experience transitioning from military to civilian life, including hesitation to request services. The key to our success is in the veterans helping veterans approach to services. Staff and volunteers with military service, as well as family members of veterans, provide all available Center services. Clients utilizing these services are all veterans, including newly discharged and Vietnam era. Victoria County is committed to continuing to provide quality services for all military veterans and their families. The county also looks forward to sharing the success of this distinctive program so that other communities may also provide access to valuable, quality of life enhancing services for veterans.
