About the Program

Category: Criminal Justice and Public Safety (Best in Category)

Year: 2011

An analysis of substance abuse treatment in Mesa County released a lack of available longer-term residential treatment services. Intensive Residential Treatment (IRT) programming was developed based off of best practices and evidence based treatment in the effective treatment of substance dependant disorders, specifically methamphetamine. Treatment is individualized and based on individual progression, not the number of sessions attended or by funding. Treatment services utilize the following elements: Cognitive-behavioral group therapy, Motivation Enhancement techniques, Positive Reinforcement, Family Involvement, Relapse prevention techniques, Substance Testing, Case management Services, and Multidisciplinary Community Team. The Summit View treatment Program is a division of Mesa county Criminal Justice Services Department that provides a wide variety of treatment services for those struggling with addiction, particularly those with methamphetamine addiction. Utilizing validated clinical assessments, each individual is evaluated to determine the appropriate intensity of treatment, and specific needs to address for sustained sobriety. The Summit View Treatment program offers a full continuum of care for addictions treatment ranging from residential to transitional living. This includes helping individuals develop the structure and skills needed for successful sober living in the community, and providing outpatient treatment with a variety of intensities.
