About the Program
Category: Children and Youth (Best in Category)
Year: 2009
In order to prevent unnecessary deaths and medical complications, the county wanted to make sure that an individual at schools with experience in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and knowledge of basic first aid procedures and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) was always available. Therefore, three volunteer trainers from the Citizens Fire Academy, four from the Gwinnett Fire Explorers youth program, and eight off-duty department personnel were recruited to receive training in these fields.
