Courthouses of Georgia celebrates the history and diversity of the state’s temples of justice in a full-color book of exquisite photographs by international photographer Greg Newington. One courthouse from each of Georgia’s 159 counties is featured on its own full page spread, accompanied by a brief excerpt that highlights significant facts, such as the date that the courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as well as a quick summary on the history of the county’s name. Courthouses of Georgia was produced as part of the centennial anniversary of ACCG, Georgia’s county association, in partnership with the University of Georgia Press, the Georgia Humanities Council, the State Bar of Georgia and Newington Photography. To date, more than 3,000 copies of Courthouses of Georgia have been sold by the University of Georgia Press, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other bookstores. The book also has been recognized by the national Library Journal as one of the best reference books of the year for 2014.
