Year: 2013

In a joint effort, the Clerk/Register of Deeds and the Health Department’s animal shelter offered mobile office hours throughout the county. The Clerk/Register of Deeds Office had been appearing throughout the county offering mobile office services in a different community about once a month. This past year, the Health Department’s animal shelter joined them, enabling residents to purchase and/or renew their dog license(s) at these mobile offices. Not only does this save residents a trip to the county seat, it allows them to conduct multiple transactions in one location. Residents needing their birth record and dog license can handle both requests at the same time and place. The mobile office is set up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. allowing residents to do business during their lunchtime if needed. Occasionally, an adoptable pet is brought along to promote adoption and try to find the sheltered pets a permanent home.
