Oakland County is committed to enabling as much technology sharing among governments as possible. The Countyâs philosophy is that government agencies can work together to create a sustainable model for digital government by sharing and leveraging technology for mutual benefit. With this approach, Oakland County helps other governments benefit from technology that may not otherwise be within reach. One example is the Countyâs CLEMIS CRASH system, which provides Law Enforcement agencies an efficient and user friendly way to create accident reports on their mobile data computers and/or a PC back at the police station. CLEMIS CRASH is a web-based system designed to have the same look and feel from a desktop or a mobile device. It provides all the tools a law enforcement agency needs to properly create, store, and retrieve crash report information. The software is interfaced to other existing CLEMIS software allowing the ability to import already existing query results, thus eliminating the need to type information on the drivers and vehicles. The time needed to create the crash report on their mobile data computers in a fraction of the time previously needed when creating a paper accident report. Also the digitized data is now available to drivers, insurance companies and the State of Michigan.
