The King County Assessor has launched a comprehensive program to dramatically improve the quantity and quality of information provided to citizens about the role of the Assessor and how the property tax system works in King County, including descriptions of the real property assessment process, and the government services funded by property taxes. A key component of this public information program is an extensive upgrade of the King County Assessorâs website, including the centerpiece of the upgrade, a new web application called, âeReal Property.â EReal Property provides citizens with virtually every piece of information the county collects related to property in King County, including: property assessments; the data used in the assessment process; how the property tax rate is established; how the property tax is collected; and where the property tax funds are distributed. The eReal Property program has substantially increased public access to property-based information, and has improved customer service for the citizens of King County. Prior to eReal Property, the quantity and quality of information available on the King County Assessorâs web site was limited to a much smaller, static subset of property-based information.
