Mecklenburg County Information Business Services & Support Agency/Information Technology (BSSA-IT) partnered with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC) Technology Services Division to develop a system for managing their Arrest Processing Needs.Previously, MCSO used a mainframe to handle arrest processing, but it was not integrated with the NCAOC “NCAWARE” system (the system of record for state warrants).NCAWARE is a statewide warrant repository that implements electronic repository legislation (G.S. 15A-301.1) and provides NC law enforcement and court officials with real-time web-based access to current and historical criminal processes and defendant information statewide. NCAWARE launched the first pilot county in June 2008. The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts has engaged Mecklenburg County to deploy NCAWARE locally.
