The Alameda County Information Technology Department (ITD) manages and supports the County-wide network, which provides critical network services for all County agencies/departments. As ITD and County agencies increasingly look to leverage new technologies, including Cloud-based services, Unified Communications, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony and centralized applications, it is increasingly important that the network is optimized to support the business critical demands of the agencies/departments. This, in turn, enhances the agencies’ and departments’ ability to provide services to the public. In March of 2017, ITD initiated a project to implement the LiveAction LiveNX platform to provide network visibility, performance, and analytics information. This tool gives ITD the visibility to better plan, diagnose issues, and optimize application and service delivery across the County.
