“Young Montgomery” is a half hour television show hosted by two volunteer young co-anchors and focuses in highlighting and engaging Montgomery County’s youth population. The show showcases positive youth development opportunities and engages young residents in participating in County programs available for young people.“Young Montgomery” features young guests that are participants in clubs, sports teams, community groups or non-profit organizations that have a positive influence in the community and that are dedicated to empowering the leaders of tomorrow through volunteerism and activism. The show also highlights the accomplishments and experiences of the County’s youth population by sharing their stories of challenge and success. “Young Montgomery” also profiles how active youth who engage in positive activities overcome barriers and take on leadership roles in school and the community by gaining confidence through civic participation, mentoring, tutoring, service, school involvement, and embracing positive life habits. Young guests share their learning experiences participating in a series of diverse programs and how they will use them in their professional and personal future while they encourage other youth to get involved and participate in community available positive youth programs and in service projects throughout the County.“Young Montgomery” Shows serve as an additional tool to strengthen the multi agency collaboration in reducing gang violence and crime and promoting youth success, while granting a public platform for youth to promote their successes, share their stories and encourage other young individuals to act and live responsibly. The show also serves to promote non-profit organizations partnered with Montgomery county Government engaged in positive youth development. The show is broadcasted every week on County Cable Montgomery.
