About Shontrice

Shontrice serves as program manager for economic and workforce development where she is responsible for informing, educating, assisting and measuring results for county officials across the country in their efforts to improve equitable economic opportunity, support place-based investment and advance upward mobility to move residents out of poverty. Prior to joining NACo, she worked on the Racial Economic Justice team at Prosperity Now where she supported nonprofit executives with capacity-building programs and technical assistance to create economic equity, asset development and ecosystems change. Shontrice earned her master's in public policy with Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the George Washington University and bachelor's degree in political science and African American Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
